Despite the challenge of dealing with a year that went sideways on me, I’m very thankful for what I have in my life.
I’m especially thankful to family: to my parents, who drove from the East Coast to Ontario at summer’s end to visit, forcing Sean and I to take a break in our busy schedule; to Sean’s parents for driving from Bowmanville to meet up with mine; to my one aunt who hosted a mini family get together for my mom’s side, and to my other aunt who was disappointed Sean and I couldn’t make to it the family reunion for my dad’s side. It was a great time and went by far too fast.
I’m very thankful to my husband, Sean, who is currently working on the cover art for The Starry Rise. Yes, that is a progress pic to show you what he’s up to and how far along he’s come since we finalized the concept.
I’m thankful to all my friends, both close and distant, and appreciate the time we spend together either on walks or chatting through Skype or on the phone.
And I’m especially thankful for the opportunities that have come my way recently.
To Jen: Thanks for my first paid editing gig on a short story AND for having me as your first interview on the second edition of your podcast, Jen Frankel Reads Random S#it! Air date to be announced.
To the folks at Underground Book Review who contacted me recently to let me know that a review would soon be published for The Forgotten Gemstone, by Bill Kieffer, author of The Goat: Building the Perfect Victim. The review, which is scheduled to be published October 22, has prompted me to do a Halloween Promotion this year, so stay tuned for more details.
In the meantime, even if you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving until November, be thankful this October.
