Kit Daven was born in Toronto, Ontario, the only child in a military family. Writing since the age of seven, she has a continued fascination with stories, writing, and making books. After spending many years producing literary zines in her youth, Kit was published in Ryerson University’s White Wall Review under a different pen name in the mid 1990’s.

In 2009, she decided to begin writing a serial to publish online. This project instead turned into the novel, The Forgotten Gemstone, which she indie published in November 2013. Her second novel, The Other Castle, was published in June 2016, and her third novel, The Starry Rise, was published in August 2019. Together, the three books form A Xiinisi Trilogy, which is published through her author press, Eager Eye Books.

Kit is an avid explorer of creativity in all its forms. An occasional visual artist, her paintings, sculptures, and books have appeared in a few galleries, and she has designed the covers for her publications Spider Spun and The Cannibal’s Handbook. She has also acted in a short film. Currently, she is part of Ramstar Games, working with artists Sean Chappell (RedFracture.com) and Sabrina Scalarini (Ice Phoenix Art) on their first card/table top game.

Kit currently lives in Cambridge, Ontario, with her husband, Sean Chappell, and two Siamese cats.
