Kit Daven was born in Toronto, Ontario, the only child in a military family. Writing since the age of seven, she has a continued fascination with stories, writing, and making books. After spending many years producing literary zines in her youth, Kit was published in Ryerson University’s White Wall Review under a different pen name in the mid 1990’s. In 2009, she decided to begin writing a serial to publish online. This project instead turned into the novel, The Forgotten Gemstone, which she indie published in November 2013. Her second novel, The Other Castle, was published in June 2016. They are the first and second installments in A Xiinisi Trilogy, which are both released through her small press, Eager Eye Books.
Kit is an avid explorer of creativity in all its forms. An occasional visual artist, her paintings and sculptures have appeared in a few galleries, as well as the print edition of her books. She has also acted in a short film and is currently being mentored in dressmaking.
Kit currently lives in Cambridge, Ontario, with her husband, surrealist artist Sean Chappell, and two Siamese cats.
